Dr Wubin Xie, a Senior Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, undertook a research visit at BRAC University, Bangladesh, supported by the NIHR 132960.

“I was able to meet the key research partners and to observe the field team conducting the planned community survey activities. I learnt about the socioeconomic context of the study sites,current model of NCD care by visiting primary health care facilities and speaking to primary care providers at different levels. I was able to observe their working environment and see how they interact with patients and with colleagues.

I also attended the MPH graduation ceremony and dissertation presentation at BRAC University School of Public Health. This was very nice and interesting to learn the diversity of faculty and student, and the wide variety of research topics the students engaged.

Through this placement, I was able to establish a good working relationship with colleagues from the partner organization. We discussed collaborations in various research activities with a list of action points. We established regular online follow-up meetings to progress on various agenda, this included the development of several manuscripts.”
