Policy and environmental interventions for primary prevention of NCDs
We will continue to advance policy- and community-based actions for health promotion and primary prevention of type-2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in South Asians. In partnership with the Health Promotion Bureau of Sri Lanka, we will test the hypothesis that a ‘whole of society’ approach to intervention that targets the demand and supply-side factors identified through our FOOD POLICY MAPPING IN SOUTH ASIA and our SURVEILLANCE study improves health behaviours and measures of cardio-metabolic health. Our clinical trial will evaluate at national scale, in partnership with Ministry of Health, to provide a powerful evidence base that informs future health policy in South Asian settings.
