Dilakshi Lekamge is a PhD Student affiliated with the Global Health Research Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. Her research focuses on determining how impaired lung function associates with hypertension among adults in South Asian countries.
Prior to joining the GHRU as a PhD trainee, she worked as an Assistant Lecturer and a Visiting Lecturer at the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. During this period, she had the privilege of conducting lectures on GIS, Hydrology, Environmental Geography, Geomorphology and Tropical Agroforestry. Her role also extended beyond teaching, as she actively contributed to curriculum development, guided student research projects, and conducted rigorous student evaluations.
Dilakshi holds a Masters with Merit in Environmental Science and Management from the University of York, United Kingdom and she obtained her BSc (Hons) in Environmental conservation and management from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.
